Sam Rabbit's Special Celebration It was a beautiful sunny morning and Sam Rabbit was hopping along towards home. FX wood block Sam had been to the baker to buy a basketful of warm, sticky buns and jam tarts. Sam had to cross three streams and three bridges to get home. Sam came to the first stream. It was a bubbling, babbling brook. FX shaker Sam crossed the first rickety, rackety bridge. FX guiro And hopped along the windy way home. FX wood block "Hi there, Sam Rabbit" called Mrs Owl, the school principal. "Are you coming to our school fete? We're having a real celebration - we've even got a band!" Sam could hear the band. FX tambour, tambourine, cymbal "No, thank you, Mrs Owl" replied Sam, "I've got to get home. We have our own special celebration." Sam waved goodbye and hopped off. FX wood block Sam came to the second stream. It was a crystal, croaking creek, full of fat little frogs. FX guiro Sam crossed the rickety, rackety bridge. FX guiro And hopped along the windy way home. FX wood block "Yoo hoo!" shouted coach Barnaby Bulldog, "We've just won the big game and we're having a little celebration. Would you like to join us?" Sam could hear the happy sounds of clapping and cheering. FX sticks, castanets "No, thank you, Mr Bulldog" replied Sam, "I've got to get home. We have our own special celebration." Sam waved goodbye and hopped off. FX wood block Sam came to the third stream. It was a reeling, rolling river. FX shaker - more vigorous Sam crossed the rickety, rackety bridge. FX guiro And hopped along the windy way home. FX wood block "Sam, Sam", called Mrs Bilby, "come and join our celebration - Becky and Barry are both getting married!" And the air rang out with the joyful song of wedding bells. FX bells & triangles "Sorry," said Sam, "but I've got to get home. We have our own special celebration." Sam waved goodbye and hopped off along the windy way home. FX wood block When Sam got home, Mrs Rabbit was at the door, smiling. "Hello, mum, I'm home with the buns" said Sam. "And you're just in time", said Sam's mother, "in time for our very own special celebration. Say hello to your brand new baby sister. She looks ... just like you!" And she did ... because Sam was a girl rabbit.
